29. The Ghost
The majority of this week was spent implementing the mechanic I was talking about in one of my previous posts. I don't have a certain name for it yet, but here's how it works: The player is always followed by a "ghost character" and this character is just the one who's not currently active. During the game, the active character and command the ghost player without any cost. The ghost player cannot get hit, but can hit enemies. However, when the ghost player is being controlled, the active character cannot move, leaving them open to attacks. The active character can drop their control of the ghost at anytime to begin moving. The ghost will immediately return to the player unless they're doing an attack, in which case they'll return after the attack is done. I intend to give each character specifically designed attacks that can abuse this mechanics. Hopefully, I'll be able to showcase them soon!
